Measurement for plane angles. One arc minute corresponds to a sixtieth part of a degree or 1/21,600 of a circle. One arc second is 1/3600 of a degree or less than one millionth of a circle. A pound coin at a distance of approx. 5 kilometers would cover the arc of one arc second.
